Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Baking dish
  • oven
  • Floured surface

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour a key ingredient for a fluffy texture.
  • 1 packet active dry yeast this helps the dough rise beautifully.
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed warm milk activates the yeast for better results.
  • ½ cup brown sugar adds a rich sweetness that complements the spices.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (divided) provides moisture and a lovely flavor.
  • 2 tsp ground ginger infuses the rolls with that warm, spicy kick.
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon for that classic cinnamon roll essence.
  • 1 tsp salt balances the sweetness and enhances flavors.

For the Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar for a sweet, creamy icing that tops off the rolls perfectly.
  • little milk mix with powdered sugar to reach your desired icing consistency.

Instructions

Directions

  • In a large bowl, mix the warm milk, brown sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit until foamy—this should take about 5 minutes.
  • Add half of the melted butter, ground ginger, cinnamon, salt, and all-purpose flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined, then knead on a floured surface until smooth, roughly 5 minutes.
  • Place your kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the remaining melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Starting from one edge, roll the dough up tightly into a log. Slice into equal pieces to form your rolls and place them in a greased baking dish.
  • Cover the dish again and let those rolls rise for another 30 minutes. While you wait, preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • Bake the rolls for about 25 minutes or until they become a beautiful golden brown.
  • Lastly, mix the powdered sugar with a little milk until you achieve your desired icing consistency. Drizzle it over the rolls once they've cooled slightly.

Notes

For a fluffier texture, knead the dough until it's smooth and elastic, which usually takes about five minutes on a floured surface. Remember to give your dough ample time to rise; a warm environment is key to achieving that perfect double in size.
