Preparation

  • Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  • Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully blended.
  • Whisk together in another bowl the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, combining until just mixed.
  • Fold in the diced fresh apples gently until evenly distributed in the dough.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto your prepared baking sheets and bake for about 10 minutes.
  • Cool the cookies on wire racks before drizzling with creamy caramel sauce.
