How to Make Savory Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Thinly slice your beef along with the green bell peppers and onion into thin strips.
Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the sliced onions and bell peppers for about 8-10 minutes.
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil and slightly increase the heat. Cook the sliced beef in batches for 2-3 minutes each until browned.
Pour about a quarter cup of beef broth into the skillet, deglazing it by scraping the bottom.
In the same skillet, stir in the cream cheese and heavy cream over low heat until smooth. Add half of the provolone cheese until it melts.
Add the cooked beef and sautéed vegetables back into the skillet, stirring until everything is evenly coated with the cheese sauce.
Spread the mixture evenly in the skillet or transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with remaining provolone cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Optional: Sprinkle with fresh parsley for an extra pop of color and flavor.
