For the Jam
- 2 cups fresh or frozen raspberries
- 1/4 cup chia seeds helps to thicken the jam
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup can substitute with honey
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice brightens the flavor
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) adds warm, aromatic touch
How to Make Raspberry Chia Jam
Mash the raspberries in a medium-sized bowl until you reach your desired consistency.
Mix in the chia seeds, maple syrup, lemon juice, and vanilla extract into the mashed raspberries.
Stir the mixture vigorously for about 30 seconds to a minute. Let it sit undisturbed for 5 to 10 minutes.
Check the consistency after resting. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Adjust the thickness if needed by stirring in more chia seeds or adding water/lemon juice.
Transfer the jam into an airtight container or jar, and store it in the refrigerator.
For a refreshing twist, add fresh mint leaves as a garnish. Store jam in the fridge for up to 1 to 2 weeks or freeze in portions for longer shelf life.
