Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 lb beef tenderloin cut into small pieces
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 4 oz prosciutto thinly sliced

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 1 large egg beaten

Seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Sear the seasoned beef pieces in a hot skillet for about 2 minutes per side. Remove and let cool.
  • Sauté the chopped mushrooms in the same skillet until the moisture evaporates, about 5 minutes. Mix in Dijon mustard once cooled.
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry and cut it into squares. Layer each square with prosciutto, mushroom mixture, and seared beef.
  • Fold the corners of the pastry to enclose the filling, then brush with egg wash.
  • Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Serve with a side of horseradish sauce for a zesty dip. Ensure beef is at room temperature before cooking for even results.
