How to Make Decadent Chocolate Mousse Brownies

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Melt ½ cup of unsalted butter with 8 ounces of bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth; then remove from heat.
  • Whisk together 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 large eggs until well combined, then stir in the cooled chocolate mixture and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gently fold in ½ cup of all-purpose flour and ¼ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, then pour the batter into your prepared pan.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs; let cool in the pan.
  • Melt 8 ounces of chopped bittersweet chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth; let cool slightly.
