How to Make Crispy Homemade Mozzarella Sticks

  • Cut the Cheese: Begin by slicing the part-skim mozzarella cheese into thick sticks, about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide.
  • Prepare the Breading Station: Set up three shallow bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumb mixture.
  • Bread the Cheese Sticks: Coat each stick in flour, dip into the eggs, and roll in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Chill in the Fridge: Place breaded sticks on a baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Heat the Oil: In a deep frying pan, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the Sticks: Fry a few sticks at a time for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Drain Excess Oil: Remove the fried sticks and let them drain on paper towels.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately with warm marinara sauce.

Notes
