How to Make Christmas Chai Latte
Start by boiling 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan. Once it's bubbling, add your 2 tablespoons of loose leaf chai or 2 chai tea bags. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
While the tea is warming your kitchen, drop in 1 cinnamon stick, 4-5 crushed cardamom pods, 4-5 slices of fresh ginger, and 2-3 whole cloves. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
Once your spices are blended, stir in 2 tablespoons of brown sugar or maple syrup.
Gently pour in 1 cup of your chosen milk and warm it through without boiling.
Remove from heat and strain into cozy mugs, discarding the spices.
Crown with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with extra cinnamon or nutmeg.
Simmer tea and spices on low heat for maximum flavor. Avoid boiling milk to prevent curdling.
