Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 1 can black beans rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter can substitute with almond or cashew butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Optional Toppings

  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts walnuts or pecans

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  • Blend together the black beans, cocoa powder, maple syrup, peanut butter, vanilla extract, and baking powder in a food processor until perfectly smooth.
  • Fold in the dark chocolate chips gently.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is set and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  • Cool the brownies in the pan for at least ten minutes before slicing them into squares.
  • Optional: Dust with powdered sugar for a festive touch!

Ensure to rinse and drain the black beans thoroughly and blend just until smooth to maintain fudginess. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, a week in the fridge, or freeze for up to 3 months.
