Ingredients

Muffin Batter

  • 3 medium ripe bananas The riper, the better for natural sweetness and moistness!
  • 1/2 cup Nutella This rich hazelnut chocolate spread is the star that elevates these muffins.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Essential for the perfect muffin structure.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar Adds sweetness and contributes to that delightful golden color.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Adds a hint of molasses flavor.
  • 1 tsp baking powder Helps the muffins rise beautifully!
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda A secret ingredient for a lovely fluffy texture.
  • 1/2 tsp salt Balances the sweetness and enhances overall flavor.
  • 2 large eggs Bind everything together while adding richness.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted, for moisture and that irresistible buttery flavor.
  • 1/4 cup milk Adds a touch of creaminess to the batter.

Optional Toppings

  • Additional Nutella For extra swirl of chocolate goodness!
  • Chopped nuts Walnuts or pecans add crunch and flavor complement.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  • Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and milk until fully combined.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Spoon half of the batter into the muffin tin. Add generous dollops of Nutella on top and cover with the remaining batter. Swirl gently with a knife.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness. Avoid overmixing to maintain tenderness. Enjoy warm, and consider adding more Nutella before reheating.
