Hi, I’m Audrey — the cook behind RusticBowl.
I grew up believing the best food starts in a heavy pan and ends at a crowded table. RusticBowl is my place for big-flavor, small-fuss cooking: cast-iron dinners, hearty salads that actually fill you up, and soups you’ll want on repeat. I write recipes you can trust on a Wednesday night—clear steps, timing windows, and smart swaps when the pantry is stubborn.
Meet the Team
Lena Park — Culinary Research & Prep Planner
Lena keeps our recipes practical. She pressure-tests timing, turns market finds into everyday swaps, and writes the “make ahead / store / reheat” notes that save your week. If a step takes longer than it should, she trims it. If an ingredient is hard to find, she gives you three sensible alternatives.
How RusticBowl Started
One winter, I cooked a pot of bean soup that tasted like it had been on the stove all day…but it hadn’t. Friends asked for the method, then the “if I only have canned beans?” version, then “can this be tomorrow’s lunch?” That rhythm—big flavor, realistic steps, leftovers that behave—became RusticBowl.
What You’ll Find
- Cast-iron and sheet-pan mains with dependable timing
- Grain bowls and sturdy salads that travel well
- Cozy soups & small-batch bakes
- Make-ahead, storage, and reheat guides on every core recipe
How We Keep It Reliable (our kitchen rules)
- Tested multiple ways: standard weeknight, meal-prep, and “I’m tired” mode
- Real-kitchen measurements: pan sizes, rack positions, timing windows
- Sensible swaps: fresh → frozen → canned paths that still taste right
- No stock photos: food is cooked in our kitchen and eaten afterwards
